BackRoadsWest presents:

Acme Spur Trail Hike

This page is not included in the sample version.  Click here to see available pages.

In 1915, the Tonopah & Tidewater (T&T) Railroad built the 2 mile-long Acme Spur to the gypsum mine at the mouth of China Ranch Canyon.  Today, you can hike along what's left of the original spur starting at the China Ranch parking lot and ending where the old loading bin meets the main T&T railroad bed.  Besides being an interesting hike on its own, this hike is also a major trailhead for most of the other hikes in this area.  See the China Ranch Area chapter for a complete list of all the hikes.
