This salty group of ponds and small lakes is an oasis for migrating birds.  Located between the towns of Tecopa and Tecopa Hot Springs, this area is used by ducks, geese and other wading birds as a place to rest and feed before continuing their journey.  There are very few native species of bird here and the only plants that grow are those that are very salt-tolerant.
