Willow Creek Canyon Hike

This page is not included in the sample version.  Click here to see available pages.

This easy hike leads you to the ruins of a 1920's ranch through a deep canyon with high walls and slot canyons.  Willow Creek Canyon (also known as China Ranch Wash or Canyon and Willow Creek Wash) has several year-round springs and is the main drainage into the China Ranch Area.  Although it looks dry at the surface, water is close to the ground in this canyon.  It flows, mostly underground, past the date palm farm and provides the necessary water to sustain life for both the plants and the few residents here before continuing on to join the Amargosa River.
