Are you are looking for a particular place and want to know which Guide it's on?  Type the name (spelling counts) in the Search for box below and click the Start Search button. 

If that name is included on a List of Places by Name for one of our Guides, the name of the Guide will be displayed under "Document Title".  To see the entire List of Places by Name for that Guide, click on the Guide name.

If your search comes back as "No documents found", check the spelling and try again.  If you still have no luck, you may want to Contact Us via e-mail and ask about  that location.

Search Engine Instructions

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

information retrieval

finds documents containing 'information' or 'retrieval'

information or retrieval

same as above

information and retrieval

finds documents containing both 'information' and 'retrieval'

information not retrieval

finds documents containing 'information' but not 'retrieval'

(information not retrieval) and WAIS

finds documents containing 'WAIS', plus 'information' but not 'retrieval'

web*

finds documents containing words starting with 'web'
