Tours: About

As seen in our videos and blog, we have the experience of traveling the back roads of the Southwest. We also have the experience of taking you on a tour or assisting you in planning your next trip on those same back roads.

Have you seen enough of the Southwest through pictures and video tours from BackRoadsWest.com? We are also available to conduct “live” tours. Either we run these tours personally, or our back roads knowledge was used in creating the tours offered here on our website by partner companies.

We have garnered experience in designing tours over the past few years with two different tour guide companies. One company offers mostly day tours, whereas the other offers mostly multi-day tours.

Some of our day tours are based off virtual video tours on our YouTube channel. Other tours are a combination of our knowledge of journeys that we’ve taken numerous times before. Our knowledge of these places will benefit you by not spending loads of time researching where to see the things you want to see.

Our Tours:

Geology Tour: Our “geology tour” covers the triple junction area around the St. George area where three ecosystems converge in Southwest Utah. You’ll learn all about the story behind the scenery. Learn more

Tour Planning: Our experience with traveling the back roads of the American Southwest can help you plan your next trip. We’ll meet on-line with you and discuss places to go based off your interests. Learn more

Photography Tours: Our passion for exploring back roads in search of unique and beautiful scenery all stems from our love of photography. Our photography tours are all custom, based off your interests. Learn more

Custom Tours: BackRoadsWest.com and its partners can design, arrange and conduct a tour to your wishes. We work with you on what those wishes are, then provide ideas of where to go, then take you there. Learn more

Our Partners

We partner with two different tour guide companies listed below. Each company specializes in two different style of tours. One utilizes SUVs, while the other utilizes Mercedes Sprinter Vans or equivalent. One concentrates on single-day tours, whereas the other performs multi-day tours.

Both companies possess the proper permits (CUAs or Commercial Use Agreements) needed to conduct tours on the various lands our tours cover. These CUAs include Zion National Park, St. George BLM Field Office, and Dixie National Forest.
